This directory contains installation versions of the executable files for the QuickTime movie players for the Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows and the Adobe Acrobat Reader for Macintosh, Windows, DOS, and Sun Solaris.  These have been generously supplied by Adobe Systems and Apple Computer, respectively.  They need to be installed on your system before you try to execute the applications. Specifically, you have:

  9.       Solaris

  11. Apple QuickTime movie player:
  12.       Macintosh
  13.       Microsoft Windows

The APPS directory has two subdirectories, one for Acrobat and one for QuickTime (QT).  Inside each are more subdirectories, one for each of the systems supported (although if you're not on a Macintosh you probably won't see the Macintosh directories and if you are on a Macintosh you probably won't see any of the others).  At the level of the individual platforms you will find more detailed READ_ME files that describe how to complete the installation of this software on your system.
